Nicotine pouches and snus

Snus is a traditional Swedish product, but what is sold as snus today are tobacco-free nicotine pouches, different from snus in many ways, the main being complete absence of tobacco. The pouches are made out of plant cellulose, flavorings, preservatives, and free-form nicotine. Nicotine in these pouches stimulates the brain's receptors, releasing dopamine and serotonin. Nicotine pouches can be addictive and are not recommended for non-nicotine users. Misusing them can cause side effects such as increased heart rate and negatively affect gums as nicotine is naturally alkaline.
